Mark Bartel

Founder, Blue Ocean Automators

Hello! My name is Mark Bartel. I work with real estate agents, coaches, advisors, and other small businesses to cut the sales cycle in half by building customized AI tools for their social media accounts, which creates a unique user experience, reduces redundant human interaction, and increases the sales pipeline by eliminating inquiry backlog on social media at scale.

Before Blue Ocean Automators...

I attended Duke University on scholarship for a Masters in Engineering. I then spent years working at a world-leading technology advisory firm, giving product and strategy recommendations to Fortune 20 companies. As the pandemic arrived, lingered, and wore on, I watched many of my mentors and friends with small businesses suffering, and I decided I wanted to do what I could to help them.

On the side, I have a scuba license and work experience as an Advanced-level EMT in emergency medicine. Why do I tell you these fun facts? Because they shaped what I am about and how I approach my work.

  • What We're About

    Trust

Your business is something you took a major life risk on - the last thing you want is an untrustworthy partnership, and that's the last thing I want to bring to the table. In order to fully understand a business, its challenges, and ways to maximize results, a level of trust and vulnerability is required, and that is something I do not take lightly.

    Competence

Be it saving a life on the scene of a highway accident or preparing a strategy discussion for C-suite executives, my experiences have explicitly depended on competency and doing work well. Bringing that competence to my work with small businesses does not mean that I seek perfection out of every step of the journey, but excellence and the ability to go back to the drawing board with resilience when needed.

    Excitement to Execute

We are on this earth for a finite amount of time. If you have the energy and excitement to make the most of it and get things done, then that's half the battle. Rome wasn't built in a day, and a fully optimized chatbot process will take time (and data) to unlock. Someone who's excited for long-term results and the work that entails and not simply get-rich-quick hacks is the kind of person that gets me excited to work with each day.
